Semester Lesson Plan Program Magister (s2)

Arts Education Paradigm

This course is a special expertise elective course of the master’s level of the Arts Education Study Program of School of Postgraduate Studies of UPI. The course is aimed at strengthening the students’ competencies in arts education paradigm. These competencies include, mastery of the educational paradigm in accordance with applicable education policies in Indonesia, art education models, the latest art education paradigm related to cases of its implementation. Problem-solving based active, interactive, cooperative, textual, contextual, creative learning approaches are used in this course.

Arts Education in Social and Cultural Context

Arts Education in Social and Cultural Context is a course designed to provide students with an understanding of how art education is always closely related to the socio-cultural life of the surrounding community. Art is a reflection of the totality of the social and

cultural life of the community. Arts education is the education of the values of the social and cultural life of the art owner community. Studying the social and cultural structure of society is inseparable from the study of its artistic elements.

Arts Edution Curriculum Review

Arts Education Curriculum Review is a compulsory expertise course in the Arts Education Study Program Masters level with 3 credit hours. This course is aimed at improving student’s mastery of arts education curriculum, which include mastery of the paradigm of arts education curriculum, arts education curriculum models, the planning, implementation, and evaluation dimensions of arts education curriculum, arts education curriculum at school and its implementation, the concept of freedom to learn and long distance learning. Learning approaches are applied actively, creatively, interactively, cooperatively, textually, contextually, and on the basis of problem-solving.

Arts Education Research Seminar

Arts Education Research Seminar is a core expertise course of the Study Program which aims at providing the students with the experience, knowledge, and skills to review, write, discuss, and present scientific papers and arts education research plan. To achieve the objective, students will review the course’s topics and the current issues in arts and arts education, review research articles, write scientific papers, and write research plan for thesis.

Mini Research Related to Thesis

Mini Research  is a 3 credit hour Core/Compulsory Expertise Course of the arts education study program.  This course is aimed at enabling students to conduct mini/preliminary research that makes up the thesis research plan. The lecturer explains the research road map that has been and will be conducted by the Arts Education Study Program of which the student’s research is expected to be part of. Students are directed to make a preliminary research proposal, conduct mini research, and analyze its results to gain experience for the thesis research. Expository learning approach is used for this course.

Multimedia In Arts Education

Multimedia in Arts Education is a 3 credit-hour core expertise course of the Arts Education Study Program. This course is designed to enhance students’ understanding of arts education learning media. Students will gain experience in observing, analyzing, discussing, exploring, designing, and practicing arts learning media (dance, music, fine arts, and theater). Inquiry, contextual learning, cooperative learning, and expository strategies will be used for this course. Learning evaluation will be conducted through assignments, mid-semester examination, and final examination.

Nusantara And International Dance Studies

This course is an elective expertise course (3 credit hours) that corresponds to the interest and concentration of field of arts expertise. For dance art, it is designed to improve and strengthen students’ understanding of the local wisdom of Nusantara dance art and framed with studies of international dance  in order to improve students’ appreciation of the development of the world’s dances.

 

 

Nusantara And International Theater Studies

Nusantara and International Theater Studies Course is a Study Program Elective Expertise Course . The course is aimed at equipping the students with the knowldege and experience to study the Theaters of Indonesia or Nusantara (Oral Theater, Folks Theater, Palace Theater, and Modern Theater) and international theaters, particularly those in Asia. Students will gain comprehensive knowledge and insight into the diversity and characteristics of theater in Indonesia, both historically and aesthetically.

Art Creation Education

This course is an elective expertise course of the Arts Education Study Program with 3 credit hours value. This course is designed to enhance students’ understanding of art creation both in the formal and non-formal tracks in Indonesia. For this purpose, students will learn to analyze the elements, contents and forms of the existing arts. Students will then learn the principles of art creation from developing the concepts and ideas, exploring them, and composing them into a work of art.

 

Development of Art Learning Models

This course is designed to explore students’ understanding of dance education learning media, both in formal and non-formal tracks in Indonesia today, and in the future to be used as a basis for thinking in supporting the achievement of art education learning goals in society. In this context, students will learn to understand the diversity and differences of students, special conditions according to the levels and types of education, learning approaches, and the academic competence of teachers and students.

Archipelago and Foreign Arts

This Archipelago and Overseas Fine Arts Study course is an elective science and expertise course for the arts education study program. The purpose of this course is to equip postgraduate students of the master’s program to be able to master, study and know the development of domestic and foreign art in accordance with new scientific theories/concepts/ideas so that they can improve the quality and produce works of artistic innovation and art education that are tested through interdisciplinary research or multidisciplinary.

research Of Nusantara And Abroad Music

Archipelago and International Music Studies Course, equips prospective teacher students and education staff about the aesthetics of domestic and foreign music which includes:

1) Understanding Musicology and ethnomusicology as the basic concepts of domestic and foreign music analysis;

2) Elements and elements of domestic and foreign music;

3) Analysis of elements and elements of Indonesian and foreign music;

4) Contextual (paradigmatic) studies of Indonesian and foreign music.

 

Philosophy of Art Education

This course presents a discussion of: Understanding philosophy and its fields; differences in philosophy, science, and religion; educational philosophy, various schools of educational philosophy; and the philosophy of Pancasila education.

P2. Mastering science and technology for the development of art and art education.

P3. Mastering the theories and concepts of art creation and art education models.

Creation Education Fine Art

This course has the status of a Special Skills Course (MKK) for the arts education study program. Lecture topics include various theoretical studies of works of art as well as applications in the practice of works of art.

Integrated study and practice in the form of presentation of student works of art. Through this course, students are expected to have theoretical and practical competence independently or in groups. The study and practice are prioritized to refer to traditional Indonesian arts that can be adopted in formal learning in schools and other educational environments. In principle, the approach prioritizes the dominance of student activity and participation (student center approach) in expressing ideas/expressions of artistic creation.

Artsedu Development of learning models studies

Philosophy of Art And Aesthetics

This course provides a discourse on philosophy and thoughts about art which brings thoughts on ontology, epistemology, and axiology of art.

Art Antropology

This course deals with the discipline of Art Athropology which involves exploring the scope of lecture material, background and interests of lectures, characteristics and aspects, typology and categorization of arts in Indonesia. In addition, it can formulate and analyze various problems regarding art and its changes, and find theoretical solutions regarding the development of art anthropology in rural areas, urban villages, urban areas and global arts and publish it widely for the development of art education learning 

 

Science Phylosophy

In general, the purpose of this course is for students to master knowledge and understanding of the philosophy of science perspective on educational problems, both philosophical, scientific and educational in practice in the field in accordance with the study of the scientific field.

In particular, the purpose of the Philosophy of Science course is for students to master and be able to practice basic theoretical and practical principles as well as correct reasoning in developing scientific studies in the field of scientific studies in the field.

 

 

Pedagogic Study

Pedagogical Studies course as MKLK which strengthens students’ insight in understanding educational theory and practice from a pedagogical perspective to examine:

 

 (1) the meaning of education, teaching and training;

(2) education as a science;

(3) anthropological philosophy of human nature and the purpose of education;

 

(4) the historical foundation of education;

Applicable Research Methodology Of Arts Education

The subject of Applied Research Methods for Art Education aims to improve student competence in designing applied research related to art education. These competencies include the ability to map problems, create conceptual frameworks, choose methods, and develop research proposals. Lectures are carried out using blended learning, or completely distance learning (if conditions do not allow), with a student-centered learning approach.

Inter Study And Multi Discipline Arts

This Inter and Multidisciplinary Art Studies course is an Aanvullen/pre requisite course with a weight of 3 credits. The purpose of this course is for students to be able to carry out a small/preliminary research which is part of a thesis research plan. Students are directed to examine the results of inter- and multi-disciplinary research in the arts, discuss various qualitative approaches and methods, conduct small research, and analyze the results of small studies that will provide experience for thesis research.

Art Education Innovation

Educational innovation courses are courses that equip students with knowledge and understanding of various theories and concepts of art education innovation. This course presents a discussion of: basic concepts, processes, strategies, art education, especially in art curriculum and learning, management and organization in art education.

Through various knowledge and studies conducted on various innovations in art and design education, it is hoped that students can have the ability to think critically (critical thinking) with a comprehensive understanding of the various phenomena of art and design education that can be used to understand and solve various problems of art and design education in society.
